The National Director – Policy and Legal is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and overseeing national strategies, policies and practices that support the building and construction industry.
The role leads the development and implementation of national policy positions across key areas including economics, workforce development building regulation, safety, industrial relations and business frameworks that impact the building and construction industry.
Stakeholder engagement and representation across a range of key government and industry bodies is critical as is an in-depth working knowledge across these key subject matters.
Melissa is also required to lead and mentor a team of policy and legal professionals and collaborate with other senior directors and the CEO to align policy advocacy across portfolios.
By leveraging over 15 years experience in the building and construction industry Melissa looks to advance the interests of Master Builders Australia members.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales and I was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia in 2008. Prior to joining MBA, Melissa work for HIA, and spent some time in private legal practice.
